Prior to his Sitel interview, regarding the draft Electoral Code issue, PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski again said his party’s offer to SDSM and Levica to agree to the proposal for diaspora to be able to vote electronically starting with the 2029 presidential election was not being accepted.

He also reiterated that all other proposals from the opposition would be accepted exactly as proposed, provided that the two parties agreed to the diaspora being able to vote. However, SDSM again accused Mickoski of planning to commit election fraud.

“Mickoski now wants to push through an Electoral Code that opens up space for a new electoral robbery”, the party’s Jovanka Trenchevska stated.

Thursday saw Levica, too, accuse the ruling majority of trying to push through the Code without real political consensus. Apasiev’s party also believes the goal is for the process to collapse over the diaspora vote issue so that the “discriminatory provision for paid political advertising remains”.
