Stefan Bogoev’s defense has appealed the 30-day detention measure issued against the former Director of the Customs Administration, who is suspected of tender-rigging and receiving a kickback of around 1,800 euros.
“We did not expect such a decision, especially since it is a case of financial nature, not a violent crime”, his attorney, Sanja Aleksikj, says.
According to her, the decision was made even though she and the attorneys for the three other suspects had offered guarantees, i.e., sought that they be out on bail.
