On Sunday, PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski said the Government and his party were ready to agree to the country becoming a single electoral district and even accept Levica’s demands for more funds for campaigns for minor parties if that would enable the draft Electoral Code to be passed by Parliament.
As he noted, Saturday’s meeting in Parliament saw VMRO-DPMNE reiterate its positions that enabling expatriates to vote is a strategic goal. However, Mickoski added that some parties had presented positions that left no room for an agreement to be reached. SDSM has also rejected VMRO-DPMNE’s proposal for the diaspora to vote by mail too.
Regarding the Reform Agenda, EU Ambassador Rokas stated on Friday that the majority of the 10 items that should be completed by mid-July had already been implemented, which was a big success. He is convinced that the remaining items will be implemented at the same level of success.
