A new hearing was held in the Kochani fire trial on Wednesday. Defendant Dejan Jovanov (a.k.a. Deko), the owner of Pulse, would force some of the employees to hide from inspections and often give instructions through his son, Mihail, according to a witness statement given to the Prosecutor’s Office, which was read in the courtroom.

It concerns a girl who worked there and later at the Klasik café. Her statement, along with another, were read after the Office had submitted psychiatric expertise stating that they are in an impaired mental state and cannot testify directly.

The defense reacted, but the Criminal Court decided to have the statements read. The Prosecutor’s Office also presented photos and videos from the Facebook account of the DNK band from previous performances in other discoes across the country.

It pointed to the use of pyrotechnics, stating they had been set up before performances and activated by a now-deceased member of the band with a remote control.
