The computer technician suspected in the espionage issue was actually a pensioner when it was reported that he was copying files from a computer at President Siljanovska Davkova’s cabinet, two sources familiar with the matter have confirmed for Telma.
The suspect was a member of the Wolves Unit of the Army, where he served as a non-commissioned officer responsible for links and communications. He was transferred to the Cabinet during the time when Gen. Vasko Gjurchinovski was then-President Ivanov’s Adjutant. The suspect held the same position within the Cabinet of Pendarovski.
He would work as part of President Siljanovska Davkova’s Cabinet as an external consultant, while his formal job was with the Army special forces, where there is an accelerated retirement scheme. Because of this, he retired, but since approval for a new employment could not be obtained from the Ministry of Finance, the suspect continued to work for the President’s Cabinet even as a pensioner.
However, on November 24, 2025, the retired IT officer caused an incident that was reported a month later to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after which the investigation was opened.
