VMRO-DPMNE has again accused SDSM, Levica, and DUI of blocking the draft Electoral Code and thereby stalling the country’s progress. In a press release on Thursday, it said the Code was an important reform process linked to OSCE/ODIHR recommendations and the fulfillment of obligations under the Reform Agenda.
Due to the failure to pass the text, there is a risk of losing additional funds from the Growth Plan, the ruling party noted, adding that the opposition was putting party interests ahead of state interests and, instead of reforms, was choosing political obstructions.
On the other hand, Levica said that the failure to pass the new Electoral Code meant that the system of paid political advertising remained in force, as a result of which the largest parties would divide around 10 million euros of public funds.
