The trial of the suspected serial killer from Staro Nagorichane, 25-year-old Trajche Bojkovski, who is accused of murdering four women and attempting to murder two others, started on Thursday. He pleaded not guilty.
After he’d initially refused to answer the judge’s questions regarding his personal details, he finally spoke upon the resumption of the process and said he was innocent. Bojkovski also stated that he understood what he was accused of. That triggered a reaction from his attorney, Dragan Trajkovikj, who said he had advised his client to plead guilty. Following a short recess requested by the defense, Trajkovikj revoked his power of attorney for Bojkovski.
Prosecutor Ljubomir Lape stated that Bojkovski had committed the murders in a premeditated manner, motivated by hatred toward women.
“Necrophilia was the dominant motive for the murders”, he underlined in his opening statement.
