Albania’s customs authorities have reacted to allegations made by two MPs and an official from VLEN, denying that they were prevented from entering the country. MP and Parliamentary Group Coordinator Bekim Qoku, fellow parliamentarian Adnan Azizi, and the Deputy General Secretary of the Government, Hasim Murtezani, stated that they hadn’t been allowed to enter Albanian territory.
However, now, Albania’s Customs Administration points out that they were traveling together with a fourth person who had travel documentation issues, which was the reason why that person could not be allowed to enter Albania.
“The other three had the right to cross the border, but decided not to continue their journey and turned back of their own free will”, it adds.
On the other hand, Murtezani says border authorities didn’t explain to them why the individual was not allowed to enter Albania.
